Giving Thanks to GOD for 2010

It’s been a truly Wonderful Year as usual. When you put GOD first in everything that you do he will always reward you

I ended 2009 saying that I wanted to work on an IT contract from home in February 2010 and sure enough the Lord heard me and I obtained a contract working from home on February 5th.

I was honoured to be asked by the Service Manager of New Covenant Church MK at the end of December 2009 if I would like to head up a new department starting from 8th January 2010 called ‘Dominion Hour Ushers’ for a new UK wide national service called ‘Dominion Hour’ taking place on the first Friday of every month. I also wanted to work closer to home so that I could commit to this new role which meant getting to church by 7pm latest each month. I am happy to have achieved this from January through to December 2010. The role involved building a team, having meetings and producing minutes. Attending professional usher training, this enabled me to create Roles and Responsibilities, Code of Conduct, videos and training material for the team.

I completed a 3 day fast (eating after 6pm to 12 midnight) and then a 4 day fast (no food only water) from 1st – 8th January 2010. I thought as I am now in charge of a department I had better set an example. It was tough going but I asked God for strength each day, I was going to be a winner and I achieve my objective. This can bring you closer to GOD because you are giving up what you love (food) to focus on him alone.

From April 5th I completed 20 days out of a 40 day prayer walk at 6am each morning in Campbell Park, Milton Keynes. This gave me the revelation to create my blog, back in April. See the Category: Prayer, Prayer Walks – for pictures of the sheep lining up to get their picture taken

I changed my car in April, I was lead by the Lord to the BMW website, and went back to driving a BMW my fourth one in 11 years with GOD’s financial wisdom learnt in the past couple of years I bought it for cash – 5 figures. I picked it up on Monday afternoon 12th April. Pastor Fola sat in my car and blessed it after our prayer walk on Wednesday 14th April. Praise God! She is so lovely

I wanted time out from my IT contract after April, because I wanted to honour GOD with my blogs, twitter and Hubpages editorial and the setup of my Life Coaching website, so the Lord granted me this and I enjoyed the summer working on these projects.

My accountant Marion attended NCC Woman at Bethany in May and she decided to have her water baptism that day, so she is now Born Again. Winning a Soul for Christ is a great feeling. GOD gives me amazing talents which I use so I always gain more. I captured the whole ceremony of everyone being baptised on video and presented to the church on Sunday 30th May (which I do annually). In July I decided that I needed to get another IT contract, wanting to pay my tax bill. I took action and went to my hairdressers in London. I wanted a contract this month, so I set the wheels in motion, found a website on the Internet and it automatically emailed me relevant roles I was looking for. After a home study Bible class at my friend’s Loretta & Arthur home on Wednesday 28th July, I prepared for the following week’s study by reading the Chapter 4 ‘What is Faith’ (Bible Faith Study Course by Kenneth E. Hagin) and in doing so read the following statement – Faith says, “It’s mine, I have it now”. This was written in the context within the chapter of people wanting their healing, but instead of having faith, they were hoping for healing.

Friday night 30th July at 20:19pm I received an email Skills: “Trainer – IT/Phone Systems required for contract up to Christmas period based in the Luton area. You will be an experienced Trainer, who is able to come on board and have relevant experience teaching small sized classes rolling out new phone systems. You will be fully trained on these phone systems. You will have excellent communication skills, be personable and confident. You will have a few years experience as a Trainer under your belt. You will deliver training to end-users through basic methodologies. You will demonstrate effective communication and interpersonal skills. Work effectively in a team and contribute to the success of training objectives. Evaluate feedback about the effectiveness of individual training programs. Please apply immediately…”

I liked the sound of it all and as I had never done telephone training and Voice over IP, I thought ‘Yes this is for me, I want this new skill’ and I grabbed the opportunity (I knew GOD had given it to me), so I applied. The agency called me on the Monday 2nd August to ask my permission to send off my CV to the client. When they hung up, I said out loud “Faith says It is mine, I have it now”. Then I prayed and thanked GOD for the contract.

On Tuesday I wondered why I had not received a call but I told myself that GOD was taking care of it and the contract was already mine. GOD never lies, only if you are a doubting Thomas.

I had a phone call from the contract agency on the Wednesday at 12:30pm “they love your CV can you do an interview over the phone, and what time would you like?” I went out shopping had a call “can I get back and do the interview at 15:00pm”, “sure no problem”. After 30 minutes on the phone and asking them to do a video conference from my laptop on skype the contract was mine. I fell down and praised GOD. It was my turn to have the home study Bible class at my house that evening and I gave my Testimony to the group, they we so excited and pleased for me, it gave them confidence that GOD answers you when you pray in faith. So we helped each other to become stronger in Christ. I then gave a Testimony at our Dominion Hour Service on Friday evening 6th August and in Sunday service. When a congregation can hear a real life testimony from someone they know it will inspire them to move forward.

I started my contract the following week on 12th August continuing until 14th January 2011. I deferred my last 5 days (insight from the Lord on Sunday morning) from Monday 20th December due to the snowy and icy conditions no grit on our roads, giving the client value because more staff will be in that week for training.

Many times leaving Luton at the right time intervention by the Holy Spirit would stop me from being involved in traffic jams which everyone else would be stuck in for 2 hours. I would leave and get home to Milton Keynes in 40 minutes. Many times I was asked ‘how did you do that’? When you have a relationship with GOD his spirit guides you. You have to listen though, so many of us are so busy and never stand still to hear him speaking to us when he is trying to give us insights and revelations.

Attending ‘NCC Women Spa Weekend’ retreat for a whole weekend in Friday 15th – 17th October was brilliant, attended with 18 girlfriends from various NCC church branches who were great company & great fun. Great food, informative and brilliant lectures with image and etiquette consultants. Venue Latimer House, Chesham, Buckinghamshire.

The last entry in my blog up to today was ‘An Opening Church Prayer’ – my Pastor had contacted on the Wednesday 28th July during the day to ask if I would like to do the Opening Prayer at our new venue of Hazeley School, Milton Keynes on the Sunday 1st August. Since that time I have been very busy on my contract, church events and completing my Life Coaching modules.

I am now an Accredited Life Coach. I praise GOD and give him all the glory for this achievement. I completed all my 14 assignments with diligence, achieving 14 A grades – (6 x A stars, 6 x A and 2 x A minus).

One of my favourite and powerful scriptures is 2 Tim 1:7 “For God has not given us the spirit of fear, but of power and of love and a sound mind”. If you ever live in fear this is the scripture to read and mediate on.
